[Summary] => In a blink, the decision was made: sacrifice self, save others.
Capt. Aniano Amatong, 31, ordered his co-pilot to bail out of a malfunctioning plane. Capt. James Acosta did and survived.
Amatong then steered his doomed plane away from the populated areas of Paombong, Bulacan and headed for an open pond. It was too late for him to bail out. But the tragedy took no other casualties.
Pure heroism. It has to be called that.

[Title] => GMA: The last President of the Philippines?
[Summary] => Speaker Jose de Venecias speech before the Manila Overseas Press Club (MOPC) exactly a week ago continues to reverberate throughout the country as a step in the right direction as it is a radical shift in our system of governance, where all of us must experience some kind of "paradigm shift." Call it Smokin Joes finest moment, as he was able to convince a lot of skeptical people like Sir Max Soliven about his debt-to-equity program and that Charter changes (Cha-cha) would greatly benefit this country.

[Title] => PAF retires F-5 after 40 years of service
[Summary] => BASA AIR BASE, Pampanga After 40 years of guarding the nations airspace, the Philippine Air Force (PAF) is retiring its vanguard F-5 jet fighters that formed the core of its air defense and saw action against communist and Muslim rebels as well as military mutineers.
Short of saying this leaves the Philippines defenseless against external threats, the commander of the PAF Air Defense Wing bid farewell to the countrys aging F-5 fighters in sentimental rites that had a funereal tone.
