                    [Summary] => I was in Baguio last week for the start of the 44th UP National Writers Workshop, and once again we gathered and met about 20 of the country’s best young writers in English, Filipino, and other Philippine languages. The Baguio workshop – held this year at the Inn Rocio, which used to be the home of the late great Chino Roces – is an annual rite of passage for aspiring Filipino writers, and over the past four decades it has helped produce most of our finest fictionists, poets, dramatists, and essayists.
