[Title] => San Juan cops launch Smart Bike patrol
[Summary] =>
The San Juan police have launched the "Smart Bike Patrol" to enhance their patrol capabilities and improve police service at the busy Greenhills Shopping Center.
The "smart bikes" are emission- and noise-free vehicles that run on highly efficient rechargeable batteries. They can accommodate a maximum load of 180 lbs. with a cruising speed of 25-30 kilometers per hour.
San Juan police chief Superintendent Rodelio Jocson said the bike can be used for 24 hours of patrolling without charging, covering up to 25 kilometers.

[Title] => Charge to experience
[Summary] => Craned necks, puzzled stares, pointed fingers, quizzical looks
I was slow enough to see them, but fast enough to escape. A kid on a mountain bike got alongside me as I did about 15 kph on the main subdivision road somewhere in Cainta. He did a once over and seemed to want to ask me something, even as he tried his darnedest to look uninterested.
Yeah, right.
I squeezed down on the throttle. The blue vehicle whined in satisfaction and zoomed faster. Goodbye, kid.

[Summary] => Apologies to Xzibit, the good people at West Coast Customs and anyone else who would have wanted to get first dibs on putting out a story about "pimping my ride" in these here shores. This particular story will, no doubt, be followed by a number of other stories from other publications who will feature a variety of vehicles in their motoring sections, all of them "pimped" by a bunch of guys any car lover would love to befriend. Just the same, youll read it here first.
