Ben Moses Ebreo, manager of the Philippine Information Agency-Nueva Vizcaya Information Center, said the yearly commemoration started in the early 1990s to honor the heroism of Filipino and American soldiers who fought fiercely in retaking the Pass from the Japanese Imperial Army. — Charlie Lagasca
