Bush, whose politics – as longtime Penman readers know – I abhor, especially as they relate to issues like the war in Iraq, the Kyoto protocols on global warming, and the resurgence of conservatism in America. (If you believe otherwise, let’s leave it at that.) But much as I hate to admit it, I did find Bush’s speech predictably well written, and even inspiring in some odd way.
