Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recently arrested two Bangladeshi men for allegedly extorting money from a fellow citizen.

Biazon said Jarque and his wife Xenia were initially detained by US immigration authorities at the Dallas airport in Texas, possibly on suspicions of terrorism.

He said Jarque’s daughter on Wednesday signed the release papers for her parents "for immediate deportation to the Philippines."

The couple is expected back in Manila today, the senator said.
