Celestino Martinez Jr., the provincial chairman of LAKAS-CMD in Cebu, yesterday called on the Comelec to send civic and religious groups instead of the military to keep watch of the elections in Bantayan Island, particularly in Madridejos town.


In the Kapamilya Media Forum held at the SM Entertainment Plaza, Martinez said the presence of civic groups and other religious organizations in the Fourth District will prevent any untoward incidents, like what happened in the 2004 elections.
