[Summary] => They’re not laughing at the Los Angeles Clippers in the National Basketball Association (NBA) anymore.

This season, the Clippers are far from laughable. Coach Mike Dunleavy’s charges are outplaying their crosstown rivals, the Lakers, and finally, oddsmakers are taking them a little seriously.

Kennevic and Kennie Asuncion have improved from No. 24 to No. 22 in the International Badminton Federation mixed doubles rankings, thanks to their strong showing in the recent IBF World Championships in Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California where they reached the Last 16 phase.

The bad news is there are five more from the Southeast Asian region that are better-ranked than the brother-sister tandem, thus making it difficult for the Filipinos to vie for medal honors in the 23rd SEA Games here this November.

The US team of Howard Bach and Tony Gunawan (ranked # 13) provided the International Badminton Federation (IBF) World Championships held recently for the first time in the U.S.A. with the most unpredictable win of the modern era when they beat legends Sigit Budiarto and Candra Wijaya (ranked # 2). Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia (ranked # 6) added the World Championship title to his list of achievements.

The Filipinos gave their Chinese foes a respectable fight, but Chen and Zhao were simply too good as they never trailed and finished the match in only 25 minutes.
