According to a police report submitted to Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr., the suspects were on board a red Toyota Corolla with plate number TBP 411 parked near the hotel apparently scouting for a victim when spotted by CPD Mobile Patrol 49 which was conducting a routine patrol in the area.

[Summary] => Two of four suspected car thieves were gunned down inside a stolen vehicle early yesterday morning after a shootout with policemen in Diliman, Quezon City.
The fatalities were identified as John Villa, 35, a resident of Las Piñas City and his cohort known only as "Michael." Both men sustained bullet wounds in the body and were pronounced dead on arrival at the East Avenue Medical Center.
Two still unidentified suspects were able to escape. A red Nissan Sentra with no license plates and Villas caliber .38 pistol were recovered.
