The Philippine Olympic Committee yesterday launched the second edition of the Philippine Olympic Festival that would put in focus the role of the LGUs (local government units) in the POC’s  talent-identification program and preserve the gains of its inaugural staging last June. 


Slated to kick off with the Mindanao divisional meet in January next year, the POF is expected to gather more than 10,000 athletes and officials representing more than 30 disciplines, including 18 Olympic sports.

(EDC) is looking at the possibility of putting up the proposed phase II of the wind power project in the Visayas.

"We are conducting a feasibility study if we could shift the planned third phase of wind power in the Visayas area from the present Ilocos Norte location, EDC chairman and president Sergio Apostol said in an interview.

Apostol said they are considering three areas – Antique City, Northern Samar and Northern Cebu – as possible site for the wind power facility.
