[Title] => Credibility test
[Summary] => It has already been said by senior commentators that austerity measures in themselves will not solve the fiscal crisis. Not specially when they are nothing more than publicity gimmicks. [Title] => Mark Twain: Filipino freedom fighter
[Summary] => Filipino freedom fighter? You heard right. Not many Filipino schoolkids forced to read Mark Twain think of the 19th-century American novelist as such. But consider this: while the US was laying out $20 million for the "purchase" of the Philippines from Spain back in 1898, the author of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court was a lone voice in the wilderness, saying: No, this is a very bad idea.
