Exactly a year ago for our first column of the year, we veered away from our yearly tradition and reprinted the New Year's Message of Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma. So for the very first article of the New Year 2014, we go back to our old tradition and check out whether what we wished for last year was granted…or should we make more wishes?

                    [Summary] => The closing of the year marks a point of transition – from time past that can never again be brought back save through memories, to a new period we try to coat with hope and wishes. If we reflect deeply enough, beyond knowing that the new year carries a different numerical digit, or that the horizon line before us seems hazy, shadowy and unclear, we will find a period which we can use to great benefit for our own transformation.

                    [Summary] => The tres famous Peninsula Manila’s grand New Year’s Eve Ball was definitely the rainbow at the end of a rather stormy 2001, dahlings. 


The Pen’s lobby and upper lobby were eye-catchingly decked out with over 30,000 multicolored balloons and party-favors like hats and trumpets. The fun decor, however, did not diminish the hotel’s signature elegance, dahlings. The chairs and tables were dressed in white interspersed with luxurious fabrics in deep shades of blue, yellow, green and orange.
