The Commission on Elections proclaimed on Thursday, May 16, 2013 the six leading senatorial candidates in the official and unofficial canvassing. Among those proclaimed were Team PNoy candidates Grace Poe, Loren Legarda, Alan Peter Cayetano, Sonny Angara, Chiz Escudero and United Nationalist Alliance Nancy Binay.

Binay, meanwhile, failed to attend the proclamation. Her party had asked the Comelec to stop the partial proclamation.
Angelo Gutierrez: The Comelec had said that it intends to proclaim all 12 senators-elect by Friday.
