My sister Elaine and her husband Eddie treated us to a movie at the local Cineplex last weekend, and most of us voted to see Apocalypto, Mel Gibson’s latest foray into that special genre we’ll call "bloody, gruesome movies with strange languages requiring subtitles." Eddie didn’t care much for subtitles and my mom’s eyesight was too poor to keep up with them, so they went off to catch Blood Diamond instead.
