[Title] => The right Constitution allows Filipinos to change what’s wrong (Part I)
[Summary] => Filipino society is still autocratic in temperament. At home, you will hear adults demand: “Do what elders say…,” “Don’t question them…,” “You are only to be seen, not heard.” In school, the teacher also dictates, often discouraging questions.

[Title] => Legislated Cha-cha the American way
[Summary] => It was not the first time I came across doing Charter change (Cha-cha) through legislation. This was long before Sen.Richard "Dick" Gordon suggested last week legislated Cha-cha as an alternative mode to amend the countrys Constitution. Over a cup of coffee and sandwiches that I relished a few months back with then Presidential adviser for jobs generation Arthur C.Yap, he was telling me there could be a way out of the fractious talks even among Cha-cha proponents on what mode to do this.

[Title] => Extraordinary remedy
[Summary] => I am sure we would not be having this impeach GMA threats at this time of the year if GMA allies in the Lower House didnt stifle the impeachment case initiated last year on a mere technicality. If the Judiciary Committee could have just gone through the motions of receiving the evidence to determine probable cause and then simply declare that the evidence on hand does not establish such probable cause, the ending of last years impeachment case would have been more conclusive and its repeat this year is less likely.

[Title] => The search for truth is a universal prerogative, not the Churchs
[Summary] => The question before us is not whether the bishops are right when they pronounce that the search for truth must continue apropos the Presidencys legitimacy nor whether they should include the Mining Act in their shopping list. What is objectionable is the bishops presumption that the CBCP as a collegial body should have a say on these matters. They may have a right to their opinion as individuals or as citizens but not when they use the CBCP as their mouthpiece.

[Title] => The honest Joker
[Summary] => It came straight from the horses mouth. As Joker puts it, why should the Senate write its own obituary? He could not have said it better. No one can improve on such an ho-nest statement. That is the plain and simple truth on why the Senate is refusing to cooperate with the House of Representatives despite the Constitutions mandate for Congress to propose amendments and revisions.
