[Title] => Green and bear it
[Summary] => The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) unanimous decision to suspend La Salle for a year, starting this coming season, in all sports was hardly unexpected.
Although there were rumblings that La Salle would be allowed to play on probation or only its basketball program would be suspended as the school had earlier requested for a leave of absence, nobody was surprised when the Board swung the executioners axe.

[Title] => Computers versus Exercise
[Summary] =>
In this age of computers, it looks like the machine has triumphed. It has successfully lured the child to its fold no doubt. Children as young as two or three years old are already glued to the monitor or TV set. At that age years ago, we would play kiddie games like jolens, tumba preso and hide and seek. However, these games have become extinct as the T-Rex or the saber-tooth tiger. The first two decades of life encompass the most dramatic sequence of physical, mental and social changes.

[Title] => NCAA to review eligibility rules
[Summary] => The National Collegiate Athletic Association is likely to review its own policy on player eligibility amidst the controversy raging in the UAAP involving two La Salle players with alleged spurious admission papers.
NCAA Management Committee chair Fr. Vic Calvo, OP, of Letran College said he would bat for the inclusion of that subject on their agenda when the board holds a three-day workshop and seminar starting Monday in Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
"Ill propose that we discuss the issue," said Calvo.
