[Summary] =>
Annie Brazil has been performing for over 60 years. That is tantamount to a lifetime. And what a life it has been for her, a life filled with ups and downs but where the music is ever constant. Annie has sung through periods of peace, wars, joys and heartbreak.

[Title] => Stacey Kent and her heroes
[Summary] => Stacey Kent is a girl after my own heart. She sings the old songs I like to sing and she does it in lots of beautiful, surprising ways. Of course, lots and lots better too. Sometimes I think she even sounds better than the original. If she doesnt, you just have to realize that not even the gifted Stacey can always put one over the likes of Ella or Sarah and their ilk. At the very least, she still makes the songs sound new and different.

[Title] => Ray Conniff ends an era
[Summary] => It was a rock and roll world while I was growing up but there were three easy listening albums that left me distinct impressions during the 60s. One was Manhattan Tower by Gordon Jenkins. A homage to New York City, it was an original recorded musical which pioneered an idea later very effectively put use by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice for Jesus Christ Superstar. Record the musical first. Then do the stage version.
