                    [Summary] => ZAMBOANGA CITY — The commander of the Abu Sayyaf’s urban terrorist unit and his father were killed in a shootout when Army Scout Rangers and military intelligence agents raided his hideout in a coastal barangay here yesterday.


Amilhamja Ajijul, alias Alex Alvarez, died at the scene while his  father, Asnalul, was dead on arrival at the Quinipot District Hospital.


Asnalul had a bullet wound in the head.


Four other Abu Sayyaf terrorists were arrested during a raid in Sitio Calabasa in Quinipot district at about 3 a.m.

                    [Summary] => COTABATO CITY — A powerful homemade bomb exploded in the compound housing offices of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao here last Friday night, wounding a barter trader, police said. 


The blast came two days before Latin American ambassadors were scheduled to visit this city for a dialogue with ARMM officials.    


City police chief Ajijul Taradji said the bomb was apparently planted in a jeep that entered the ARMM compound.
