[Title] => Cornered
[Summary] => Heavy fighting has been going on the past few days around Indanan in Sulu. Engaged in the running battle are units of the Philippine Marines and a fairly large armed group said to be an Abu Sayyaf contingent reinforced by pro-Misuari MNLF renegades.
The fighting has caused the temporary displacement of some 430 families or over 2,000 civilians in the area. Seven soldiers were killed so far and 21 others were injured in the raging battle.

[Title] => Now it can be told / No-El still possible
[Summary] => The Supreme Courts perceived shift from certain disqualification of Fernando Poe Jr. to eventually rolling out the red carpet for him on the smoking citizenship issue has the smack of a Hollywood thriller. The truth or rather the reality was that the Supreme Court was determined and decided to lower the boom on FPJ more than a month ago. Crush him. A disqualification I was told by impeachable Court sources would be abundantly bolstered by law and legal precedence and at least eight justices had lined up to lower the boom on FPJ.

[Title] => All that loose talk about ransom is undercutting the war
[Summary] => The two kidnapped missionaries, Martin and Gracia Burnham, were very much in the headlines yesterday on the "first anniversary" of their long captivity.
Of course, we are all concerned for their safety and survival, and pray for them. On the other hand, cruel though it may sound, the fight to eradicate the threat of the ruthless Abu Sayyaf has nothing to do with the Burnhams. If we dont succeed in "crushing" the Abus this time, there will be many more victims of abduction, torture, rape and decapitation.
