MANILA, Philippines — A lookalike of Vice President Sara Duterte joked about “confidential funds” at the recent 30th anniversary party of the Bistro Group in Hard Rock Café Manila.

Impersonator Mark Geronda, a.k.a. Inday Tasha, mimicked Duterte’s voice and won gift certificates to Bistro Group restaurants after succeeding in a guessing game about the restaurant group’s history.

“Pandagdag po sa confidential funds. Maraming salamat at happy anniversary po,” Inday Tasha said after receiving the prize.

“More books to come po,” the event’s host quipped back.

In an ABS-CBN interview, Inday Tasha, a self-confessed fan of Inday Sara, expressed wanting to meet the vice president who is currently embroiled in a controversy regarding alleged confidential funds.

“Hindi po ako natatakot at hindi rin ako nakakagawa ng masama. Hindi rin ako nakakagawa ng masamang tingin sa inyo (Inday Sara) kasi ako, is to entertain lang po, to make it fun lang sa mga manonood,” Inday Tasha clarified in the interview.

During the event, Bistro Group celebrated its milestones, including its many awards ever since it opened its first TGIFridays in Glorietta, Makati City in 1994. Among the party’s highlights were the unveiling of the restaurant group’s 30th anniversary cake, the announcement of new dining concepts, and a performance by Filipino rock legends The Dawn leading to the countdown for the Lunar New Year. — Video by Deni Bernardo
