Negros Island Region police office set for activation

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The activation of the police office in the Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) is set for March 27, although Camp Crame has yet to name a director for the new office.

With its activation, the police offices of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor provinces will fall under its supervision.

Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, PNP spokesperson, earlier said some police personnel from the police commands in those areas might be transferred to the PRO NIR.

In a statement, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office said the new regional office would have its temporary headquarters at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City, where the NOCPPO is also located.
