MANILA, Philippines -- Pauline del Rosario capped a strong performance with a late surge, birdying three of the last six holes to secure a tied-for-11th finish at the Indonesian Women’s Open, which was won by Korea’s Hwang Yoona in dramatic fashion at the Damai Indah Golf BSD course in Jakarta on Sunday.

Hwang clinched victory over erstwhile leader Cho Jeongmin in a dramatic sudden-death playoff after both players concluded the 54-hole tournament tied at 10-under 206. Hwang mounted an impressive rally with a final-round 68, while Cho closed with a 70.

Yuai Ji also posted a 70 in the final round, narrowly missing a chance to force a three-way playoff. Her 207 total left her just one stroke shy of the leaders.

Del Rosario overcame a roller-coaster round, which included a double bogey on the par-3 No. 3. She recovered with birdies on Nos. 6 and 9 to steady her game before another setback on the 12th.

However, her strong finish with birdies on Nos. 13, 15, and the closing 18th hole allowed her to salvage a two-under 70 for the day.

Her consistent performance across earlier rounds of 69 and 73 earned her a 54-hole total of 4-under 212, lifting her from joint 18th to a share of 11th place, six strokes behind Hwang and Cho.

Meanwhile, Dottie Ardina appeared poised for a strong finish after a solid two-under par on the front nine. However, a string of bogeys and a birdie-less back nine left her with a closing 215, tying her for 20th.

Ardina matched Del Rosario’s earlier rounds of 69 and 73.

Daniella Uy wrapped up her campaign with a 74, finishing tied for 58th at 223 in the event that served as a precursor to the ICTSI Philippine Ladies Masters, scheduled for February 12-14 at The Country Club in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The Indonesian Women’s Open and the Philippine Ladies Masters are significant steps in promoting and showcasing talent across the Asia-Pacific region. Sanctioned by the LPGA of Taiwan, the tournaments are part of the Korean LPGA Dream Tour, which collaborates with the Asian Golf Leaders Forum (AGLF) and the Korean Women’s Professional Golf Association.

The Philippine Ladies Masters will feature a 132-strong field, including 50 players from the Korean Dream Tour. Del Rosario, Ardina, Daniella Uy, Princess Superal and Chanelle Avaricio are expected to lead the country’s charge.

These events continue to highlight the KLPGA commitment to nurturing the next generation of top women golfers in the region, as the tour remains a platform for rising stars and established players alike.
