SC posts 22% case disposition rate in 2024
MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court (SC) registered a higher case disposition rate in 2024.
The SC had resolved 4,294 cases as of Sept. 30, reflecting a 22-percent disposition rate.
This is higher than the 21 percent disposition rate in 2023 and the 19 percent in 2022.
The anti-graft court Sandiganbayan registered the highest disposition rate of cases at 44 percent, with 994 cases resolved in 2024.
This is followed by lower courts with a disposition rate of 43 percent or 508,197 cases.
As of Nov. 30, 2024, the Court of Appeals had resolved 14,699 cases, for a disposition rate of 35 percent.
The Court of Tax Appeals resolved 648 cases, for a disposition rate of 29 percent.
“This year has been a productive one for the SC,” Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo said.
