Junior Altas rule NCAA Street Dance tilt

Members of the Junior Perpetual Dance Company celebrate their triumph in the inaugural NCAA Street Dance Competition at the Filoil EcoOil Center in San Juan City Thursday.

MANILA, Philippines — The troupe of the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta – Dance Company – showed their dancing skills and emerged champions in the inaugural NCAA Street Dance Competition at the Fil Oil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City, Thursday night.

The Junior Perpetual Dance Company garnered 86.2 points, edging the Lyceum of the Philippines U Juniors (84.2) for top spot with the Jose Rizal U bet coming in third with 82.6 points.

The champs received the top prize of P50,000 as the first runners-up earned P30,000 and the second runners-up pocketed P20,000.

In Seniors Division, LPU won the top plum and the P50,000 prize with a score of 91.6 points.

College of St. Benilde amassed 90.6 points for second place worth P30,000 while Jose Rizal U drew 89 points for third spot and the P20,000 prize.

Dr.  Anthony Tamayo, president of the high school champion team, said it is an honor for the school to count the Street Dance crown among its achievements in the NCAA.
