MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Kristine caused cancellation of sporting actions here and there yesterday, including the UAAP bill at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay and the NCAA gig at the Filoil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.

The UAAP and the NCAA announced their games postponement shortly after Malacañang on Tuesday night suspended government work, except for essential and rescue services, and classes in all levels in the entire Luzon.

Called off were UAAP matches pitting Adamson (3-6) versus Ateneo (3-6) and University of the Philippines (7-1) opposite University of the East (5-3).

Also suspended were the juniors matches featuring Far Eastern U-Diliman against Ateneo and La Salle-Zobel against Adamson.

The UAAP will announce a later date and venue for the suspended games.
