Biñan, South Cotabato in do-or-die tiff

MANILA, Philippines — Biñan Tatak Gel and South Cotabato dispute the last semifinal slot in the MPBL Sixth Season in what is expected to be a fiery clash today at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.

Their past three encounters this year have been close, two games decided by a point and the other by just three points.

Biñan nipped South Cotabato, 70-69, last Oct. 17 to force the deciding Game 3 in their South Division quarterfinal series.

The winner will advance to the best-of-three semifinals against the Batangas City Tanduay Run Masters, who swept the Davao Occidental Tigers, 2-0, in their quarterfinal series.

The other semifinal tussle will pit Quezon Province against Parañaque. The series will begin on Oct. 28.
