MANILA, Philippines — Arellano University overcame a feisty Lyceum of the Philippines U, 91-86, in a game marred by a hard and scary fall by LPU big man John Bravo in the NCAA Season 100 at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.

Bravo clashed heads with Arellano’s Renzo Abiera in a tense battle for the loose ball and fell to the floor. He lay motionless and unconscious as a hushed silence filled the venue.

Teammates, game officials and medics rushed to Bravo’s side. He was stretchered out and rushed to nearby Cardinal Santos Medical Center where he eventually regained consciousness and will observe a 48-hour concussion protocol.

Renz Capulong delivered a performance of a lifetime with 30 points and 16 rebounds – both career highs – in powering the Chiefs to a 4-8 record and back into the Final Four race. Lyceum is even at 6-6.

In the other game, Emilio Aguinaldo College downed San Sebastian, 101-94, to barge into a three-way tie at No. 4 with Letran and Lyceum. The Stags dropped to 3-9.
