Bacoor belles trip Negros foes

MANILA, Philippines — Bacoor encountered some scary moments before pulling off a 25-20, 27-25, 25-23 victory over Negros in the Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association (MPVA) Season 1 yesterday at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena.

Middle blocker Winnie Bedana asserted her might while Cyrille Alemaniana and Camille Bustamante chipped in significant numbers for the Lady Strikers, who boosted their chance for the top two spots with their ninth victory in 11 matches.

Quezon is on top with a 10-1 win-loss card while Rizal is at 10-3 in the nine-team volleyball league founded by former Sen. Manny Pacquiao.

Bedana fired all of her 12 points off attacks while Alemaniana put in 10 hits and Bustamante added eight markers laced with two blocks.
