MANILA, Philippines — Kevin Santos once again played the hero’s role in lifting Letran to a 75-73 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College yesterday and into joint second in NCAA Season 100 at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.
After scoring the game-winner in a 71-69 stunner over St. Benilde last Sunday, Santos followed it up with masterful 17-point effort that he spiked with six mammoth blocks as the Knights jumped to No. 2 with the Cardinals on 4-2 slates, just behind the Blazers (4-1).
But unlike the last time when he couldn’t make a single shot until that game-winner underneath, Santos scored a lot this time and kept on swatting enemy shots.
He topscored for the Knights as they handed the Generals a fourth loss against two wins.
Earlier, Jose Rizal U turned back Arellano U in a high-scoring duel, 92-89.
It was the Bombers’ second triumph against four losses. The Chiefs stumbled to 1-5.
