MANILA, Philippines – The NLEX Road Warriors have tapped former NBA G League Most Improved player DeQuan Jones as its new import in the PBA Governors’ Cup.

The import change came as NLEX on Wednesday lost its third straight game in the conference, this time at the hands of the San Miguel Beermen, 119-114.

Jones will be replacing Myke Henry, who has had up-and-down performances in the past three losses of the Road Warriors.

“A CHANGE IS HERE! The NLEX Road Warriors welcome former G League Most Improved Player DeQuan Jones as our new import for the remainder of the 2024 PBA Governors' Cup!” the team said in a statement.

“With experience in the NBA, Italy, Japan, France, and Israel, Jones is ready to make an impact. Let's turn this run around, mga Ka-Arangkada!” it added.

The 34-year-old Jones went undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft, but he was able to suit up for the Orlando Magic, averaging 3.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 63 games, including 17 starts.

He was named the development league’s Most Improved Player during his stint with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, and was a slam dunk contest champion in 2018.

He was a former teammate of Kiefer Ravena with the Japan B.League squad Shiga Lakes.
