MANILA, Philippines — Jerrold Mangliwan has bowed out of the Paris Paralympics after finishing last in the heats of the men’s 100-meter T52 early Friday morning (Manila time).

The Filipino wheelchair racer ended his Paris stint last in the heats with a time of 19.44 seconds.

This is 3.23 seconds behind the fastest racer, Belgium’s Maxime Carabin.

Great Britain’s Marcus Perrineau Daley, Japan’s Tomoki Sato, Canada’s Anthony Bouchard, Mexico’s Salvador Hernandez Mondragon and Leonardo de Jesus Perez Juarez and Japan’s Tomoya Ito and Tatsuya Ito qualified in the final.

Mangliwan previously finished eighth in the men’s 400m T52.

With the 44-year-old’s exit from Paris, the Philippine delegation is now down to two -- javelin thrower Cendy Asusano and swimmer Angel Otom.

The Philippines is yet to tally a medal in this year’s Paralympic Games.
