CrossFire's Pacific Macta misses Summer Championship playoff bus

The team's next tournament is the CrossFire Stars APAC Series in September.

MANILA, Philippines – Pacific Macta, the country's veteran CrossFire team, fell short of the playoffs in the 2024 CrossFire Stars Summer Championship in Hanoi, Vietnam after finishing fourth in Group A of the group stages with a 2-2 win-loss record.

The country's top CrossFire team since 2014 bucked a slow start after falling to last year's runners-up Vietnam's BaiSha Gaming (9-13, 5-10). But the Philippine squad managed to stay alive in the tournament's group stages with back-to-back wins against Turkey's LCK (2-0) and Vietnam's Wolf Empire (2-1).

With just one win away from securing a playoff spot, Pacific Macta took on its last opponent, Brazil's Imperial, which shut down the former’s playoffs hopes with a 0-2 sweep (3-10, 4-10). Pacific Macta thus end the Summer Championship at seventh to eighth, the same finish it had it last year's tournament.

The team's next tournament is the CrossFire Stars APAC Series in September, where it hopes to secure a slot in the 2024 CrossFire Stars 2024 World Championship by finishing in the top two of the Philippine regional finals happening in the same month.
