DAVAO, Philippines — Jared Saban, fresh from a stint in the Junior World Championships, sets out for the ICTSI Junior PGT Mindanao Series I starting today at the Apo Golf and Country Club here.
Saban headlines the boys’ 10-12 category, which will be played over 36 holes. His competitors include fellow players from South Cotabato, Marco Senador and Laurence Saban, Bukidnon’s Mikhail Namocatcat, Cagayan de Oro’s Gabriel Manangquil, and local talents Scionverje Recto, Jay Molde and Paul Braberry.
The girls’ 10-12 category will feature Davao’s Elize Naranjo, Angel Salvador, Snoe Dalisay and Kimberly Barroquillo, who will compete against Makati’s Kelsey Bernardino, South Cotabato’s Brittany Tamayo, Bacolod’s Chelsea Ogborne and Davelyn Dy from Cebu.
Meanwhile, Zeus Sara has pulled out of the hunt for the boys’ 16-18 title, which will be contested over four days at the tight, challenging layout.
Left in the battle are stalwarts like Vince Naranjo, Jon Ortega, Adrian Bisera, Stuart Co and Aldrien Gialon, among others.
