A few months after bagging the Philippines' first vovinam championship, Hergie Bacyadan reached another personal milestone — punching a ticket to the Paris Olympics.
In June, Bacyadan stamped her class in the 2nd World Qualification Tournament, dominating Venezuela’s Maryelis Yriza to catch a bus to Paris.
The 29-year-old boxer will try to bag the country’s first-even gold medal in Olympic boxing in the 75 kilogram division.
Watch her throw punches to Olympic glory on July 31, at around 6 p.m. (Manila time).
