MANILA, Philippines — Esports teams from UP-Diliman, Holy Angel U, San Jose Recoletos and Mindanao State U-Iligan are among the early entrants, vying for the total cast pot of P1.6 million in the forthcoming Estudyante Esports: The National Championships.
The organizing Dark League Studios has also drawn eight other early enlisters for this esports festival staking titles and rich prizes in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Valorant, League of Legends and Tekken 8.
Others already in the fold that are NU-Manila, Jose Rizal U, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of Makati, Lyceum Subic Bay, University of Science and Technology Southern Philippines and Central Philippines U.
“Through The National Championships, we are fulfilling Dark League Studios’ thrust to bring esports more accessible to students and schools,” said DLS program director Deng Kibanoff. “We see esports as the sports of the future, bridging everyone, young and old, students and teachers in a common bond for the love of esports, creating student-life balance.”
Nationwide registration is still ongoing. Schools and campus esports organizations that wish to be affiliated with Estudyante Esports may inquire via estudyanteesports.dls@gmail.com or via the Estudyante Esports Facebook account.
The UP-Diliman team leads participants in the NCR meet, Holy Angel U in the Luzon joust, USJ-R in the Visayas gig and MSU-Iligan in the Mindanao dispute.
Final qualifiers clash in onsite national championships in September.
