High Speed Hitters chalk up win No. 5
MANILA, Philippines — PLDT rode on Savannah Davison’s powerful effort as it repulsed Farm Fresh, 25-9, 25-13, 25-21, yesterday to join Creamline on top in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center Antipolo.
Davison provided the ammos the way she always have and uncorked a match-high 21 points including 17 on spikes as the High Speed Hitters claimed their fifth win in six outings and a piece of the lead.
The Foxies, who were led by Caitlin Viray’s 11 hits, slipped to 2-4.
Majoy Baron chipped in 11 including two blocks to help in the cause while Kim Fajardo continued to keep the team steady with 13 excellent sets while contributing three points.
PLDT coach Rald Ricafort was satisfied with how his team sustained the momentum of its mammoth 25-20, 25-12, 23-25, 11-25, 15-13 win over Choco Mucho Tuesday at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.
“Happy kami na-continue namin ang momentum from last game, happy kami nag-deliver kahit medyo close ang third set,” said Ricafort.
Earlier, Galeries Tower trounced Strong Group Athletics, 25-17, 25-14, 25-12, to improve to 2-4.
Choco Mucho shut the lights out of Akari, 25-17, 25-22, 25-21, to jump to the top with a 5-1 mark.
