MANILA, Philippines -- San Miguel guard CJ Perez has won his first Best Player of the Conference plum.
Perez, one of the main cogs of the Beermen, who are currently leading the Magnolia Hotshots 2-1 in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals, was crowned with the title ahead of Game 4.

He won the citation over Ginebra’s Christian Standhardinger and Scottie Thompson, NorthPort’s Arvin Tolentino and TNT’s Calvin Oftana.
“The Predator” had 464 statistical points, while also garnering 505 points from media votes and 86 points from player votes, good for 1,055 points.
Standhardinger came in second with 777 points.
Tolentino had 559 points; Oftana had 472 points; and Thompson had 446 points.
Perez is the latest in a long list of San Miguel stars to win the award.
Before him, Allan Caidic, Nelson Asaytono, Danny Seigle, Danny Ildefonso, Jay Washington, June Mar Fajardo, Arwind Santos and Chris Ross won the award.
Meanwhile, Phoenix Fuel Master Johnathan Williams III was named the Best Import of the Conference.
The do-it-all Williams took home the plum over Magnolia’s Tyler Bey, San Miguel’s Bennie Boatwright and Ginebra’s Tony Bishop.
He had 554 statistical points, 424 media votes and 39 player votes for a total of 1,017 points.
Coming in second was Bey with 908 points. His Finals rival Boatwright came in third with 878 points and Bishop had 506.
Williams is the first Phoenix import to win the award.
