LIPA, Philippines — Katy’s Farm-AGAP 1 finished with 95 points for a closing 189 to claim the first Lipa City Fiesta Barako Golf championship division title at the Summit Point Golf and Country Club.

Katy’s Farm-AGAP 1 drew an even par 36 points from Erik Escalona, a 30 from jungolfer Patrick Tambalque and 29 from Gerald Katigbak in the four-to-play, three-to-count format.

Team Ramada came away with the runner-up honors after a countback tiebreak with Team Malarayat. Both ended with 181, with the tie broken based on the fourth man’ score for the day.

Abe Rosal, a national coach in the National Golf Association of the Philippines, also matched par for 36 markers. Damas Wong made 30 and three-time seniors champion Abe Avena added 27.

Malarayat, a co-leader after the first round at its home course, only managed an 87 on Terence Macatangay’s 35 and a pair of 26s from Ray Sangil and team captain Ivan Avena.

However, it was the 25 of Raul Montealto as against the 24 of Malarayat’s Carlo Canicosa that sealed the deal for Ramada.

Summit Point 1 166 (83-83), Katy’s Farm-AGAP 2 165 (79-86), J-Ten 135 (73-62) and Baryoe Pamilya/SuperMLD 120 (63-57) competed in the centerpiece division.

The other winners were Team Master 172 (89-83) in Div A; Team SPGA 135 (75-60) in Div B; Team San Juanico 115 (61-54); and Team GMJ Construction 99 (50-49).
