MANILA, Philippines -- About a week after the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers disbanded, star libero Dawn Macandili-Catindig has transferred to the Cignal HD Spikers, the team announced Friday.

Cignal just came off a bronze medal finish in the Premier Volleyball League 2nd All-Filipino Conference, the team's fifth podium finish in seven conferences.

Macandili-Catindig is the first F2 player to transfer to another squad since the team’s disbandment.

“Any team or coach will gladly welcome a player of Dawn’s caliber,” Cignal head coach Shaq Delos Santos said.

“Gusto naming mag-build pa on the podium finishes that we have lately. Tingin namin si Dawn is one kind of player who will help us reach our goal for this team,” he added.

For her part, the libero said she is “happy and honored” to join Cignal.

“Coach Shaq has also been my coach in several national team stints so I think it will be easy to adapt to the team as I already know his system from before,” Macandili-Catindig, a three-time UAAP champion with La Salle, said.

The HD Spikers are led by Vanie Gandler, Ces Molina, Ria Meneses and Gel Cayuna.
