Swimming is back in the mainstream!
The inaugural Speedo National Inter-school Swimming Championship was held early this month at Xavier School, and it marked a triumphant beginning for young swimmers from the National Capital Region.
This prestigious event, organized by Swim Philippines in partnership with Speedo Philippines and co-presented by Bert Lozada Swim School and MILO Philippines, brought together over 500 varsity swimmers from various schools, demonstrating the incredible potential of young athletes in the sport of swimming.
This championship is not just a sports event; it's a platform that fosters camaraderie, sportsmanship and healthy competition among young athletes. The primary mission is to promote physical fitness, mental well-being and life skill development through competitive swimming.
It aims to recognize and celebrate the dedication and hard work of these athletes within their school communities as they strive to reach their personal best.
The competition, held over two days, showcased the immense talent and dedication of young swimmers who gave their all in the pool. Spectators were treated to thrilling races and outstanding performances, leaving no doubt that the future of Philippine swimming is bright.
Coach Angelo Lozada, Commissioner of Speedo Inter-school NCR Leg, expressed his congratulations and optimism for the future of grassroots swimming in the country: "I would like to congratulate all the athletes, coaches, and schools who competed and showed their talents in swimming. I genuinely believe that this competition will play a pivotal role in enhancing the grassroots swimming program in our nation, promoting the growth and development of our aspiring swimmers and athletes."
