MANILA, Philippines — College of St. Benilde tries to secure a place among the top women’s volleyball schools in the land today when it goes for the jugular against Far Eastern U today in the V-League Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena.
The proud NCAA champions sent notice early of their intention when they utterly overpowered the hapless Tams in last Wednesday’s Game One.
The Lady Blazers hope to complete the job in Game Two set at 2 p.m.
“Sana andun pa din sa Game Two,” said CSB assistant coach Jay Chua referring to their impressive net and floor defense in the opener.
FEU should keep an eye on Jade Gentapa, Jhasmine Gayle Pascual and Zamantha Nolasco, who wrought havoc with 13, 12 and 10 hits, respectively, last time.
Chua vowed they would be more patient and determined in Game Two to get the title.
“Tyatyagain namin talaga, mindset namin manalo,” he said.
Trying to make it a double celebration is CSB’s sister team and cross street neighbor La Salle, which is gunning for the men’s title versus University of Santo Tomas at 4 p.m.
