Philippine boxing body hosts send-off dinner for Asiad-bound pugs

A total of six ABAP men’s boxers and three women will plunge into action in the boxing competition from September 24 to October 5 at the Hangzhou Gymnasium.

MANILA, Philippines – The Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP), led by president Rep. Robbie Puno and chairman Ricky Vargas, hosted a send-off dinner for the Hangzhou, China Asian Games-bound national boxers and coaches last Tuesday.

The Philippine boxing team is bannered by Tokyo Olympics silver medalists Carlo Paalam and Nesthy Petecio, and bronze medal winner Eumir Felix Marcial. The three former Olympians are also using the Asiad as a possible springboard to the Paris Olympics next year. 

Also in attendance in the send-off were ABAP secretary-general Marcus Manalo, ABAP treasurer Karina Picson and nutritionist Jeaneth Aro.
