MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippines’ Uratex Dream has entered the quarterfinals of the Red Bull Half Court 3x3 World Finals in Belgrade, Serbia.
The Philippine women’s team placed second in the Group A play.
They were able to win three games in group play.
After being beaten by Egypt, 17-8, Uratex won a close game against Italy, 7-6.
They then rode the momentum to demolish Kuwait, 21-7, and Sri Lanka, 18-7.
The finish gave them the second seed in Group A behind Egypt.
In the quarterfinals, the Philippines will be meeting Australia.
If Urartex wins, they will face the winner of the match between Egypt and Belgium.
Meanwhile, the Philippine men’s team, the TNT Triple Giga, crashed out of the men’s division after falling short against the Dominican Republic in the last 16 competition, 17-18.
They finished second in Group A after garnering 40 points, second to North Macedonia, which finished group play with 45 points.
The Philippine team, however, faced the first seed of Group B, the Dominican Republic, in the next round.
