PHNOM PENH – Redemption-seeking Gilas Pilipinas men’s 3x3 came out swinging and swept its way to the semifinals of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games at the Morodok Techo National Stadium’s Elephant Hall.
Determined to atone for the disappointing bronze finish last time, Almond Vosotros, Joseph Eriobu, Lervin Flores and Joseph Sedurifa dominated their rivals, overpowering Laos, 21-5, 2021 runner-up Vietnam, 21-13, and Indonesia, 21-11, to go 3-0 in Pool A of the preliminaries.
The group-topping Gilas men’s 3x3 set up a grudge match with defending champion Thailand, the Group 2 No. 2, in today’s semis for the right to play in the gold medal match.
