Another perfect season for Benilde?

MANILA, Philippines — College of St. Benilde tries to accomplish something that hasn’t been done in a long while in the NCAA, seeking a second straight perfect season in tangling with Lyceum of the Philippines University today at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

The fabulous Lady Blazers were nothing short of exceptional when they manhandled the Lady Pirates, 25-17, 25-19, 25-19, Tuesday to set themselves up for a kill in Game 2.

CSB coach Jerry Yee said there was no special formula when his charges dominated Game One except that they just needed to stay calm.

“My job was just to calm them down,” said Yee, who is one win away from handing his team a third NCAA championship.
