MANILA, Philippines — All is set for the HERO Golf Cup, with its sixth edition unfurling Friday at the Camp Aguinaldo Golf Course.

The annual charity golf tournament is organized by the HERO (Help Educate and Rear Orphans) Foundation, Inc. with its proceeds helping fund the educational needs of orphaned children and dependent siblings of soldiers who were permanently incapacitated or killed in action or during disaster relief operations.

For this year’s event, entry fee is P3,500 inclusive of green fee, lunch, and raffle.  Tee off starts at 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Founded in 1988, HERO Foundation, Inc., is the largest partner of the Armed Forces of the Philippines that is committed to helping orphans of Filipino soldiers to finish school.Currently, HERO Foundation is supporting 262 scholars nationwide and has helped a total of 2,733 since it started. Majority of the military orphans they support are in Mindanao (45 percent) with the rest in Luzon (37 percent), Visayas (11 percent) and NCR (seven percent).
