Thirdy Ravena posts double-double in San-En win; Parks' Nagoya rout Kiefer, Shiga

MANILA, Philippines – Thirdy Ravena shone with a double-double as San-En NeoPhoenix scored a bounce-back win at the expense of the Niigata Albirex BB, 97-79, at the Toyohashi City Gymnasium in the 2022-23 Japan B. League on Wednesday.

Thirdy, whose team had lost four games straight prior, scored six of his 15 points in the final quarter where they blasted Niigata out of the water early.

In the opening canto, San-En outscored the visitors, 23-8, to seize control of the ball game.

The former Ateneo standout added 10 assists, two boards and two steals as San-En improved to a 13-16 win-loss card.

Kyle O'Quinn paced the NeoPhoenix with 26 points, six boards, three assists and two steals. Six San-En players scored in double figures in the convincing victory.

Elsewhere, Bobby Ray Parks and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins scored a demolition job of Kiefer Ravena's Shiga Lakes, 85-62, at the Dolphins Arena.

Parks tallied nine points on top of three triples, along with nine rebounds, three dimes and two steals.

Coty Clarke led the 21-8 Nagoya with 21 points, 12 rebounds and three assists as the Diamonds built a two-game win streak.

Kiefer, meanwhile, struggled against his fellow Filipino reinforcement's squad as he went scoreless. He missed all his nine shots in 24 minutes of action and contributed only two assists and two steals as Shiga skidded to their 12th straight defeat and fell to 4-25.

In the other game, Matthew Wright and the Kyoto Hannaryz could not get past the Fighting Eagles Nagoya, 94-87, at the Nagoya Biwajima Sports Center.

Wright's 13 points on 3-of-7 shooting from deep was not enough as his side fell to 11-18.

Dwight Ramos, for his part, missed his 18th straight game due to injury as the Levanga Hokkaido bowed to Alvark Tokyo, 81-62.

Ramos was also ruled out of the B. League All-Star festivities this weekend and Hokkaido's next contest against the Utsonomiya Brex.

Hokkaido now lost five straight games and slumped to a 7-22 slate for the season.
