Pingol, Tiky show way vs FEU as Lady Bulldogs extend streak to 106
MANILA, Philippines — Karl Ann Pingol and Annick Tiky came out with double-doubles to pace the NU Lady Bulldogs past the FEU Lady Tamaraws, 80-53, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion here in Espana on Sunday.
Known for their defense, the Lady Bulldogs clamped down the Lady Tams as they held their foes scoreless in the final 5:21 minutes of the game.
Camille Taguiam nailed a three-pointer to get FEU within 14, 53-67, midway through the final salvo but Ticky and Pingol scored 10 straight points for the Lady Bulldogs to stave off the Lady Tams' challenge.
Gheralin Ico converted on an and-one with 11.3 left in the game to reach the final score that improved NU's record to 10-0 for the season.
NU capitalized on FEU's mistakes as they churned out 21 points off of 24 Lady Tamaraw turnovers.
The Lady Bulldogs also extended their historic UAAP win streak to 106 games.
Pingol and Tiky finished with an identical stat line of 14 points and 11 rebounds. Pingol also had six steals while Tiky had two rejections.

Taguiam paced FEU in the losing effort with 20 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and four steals.
FEU falls to a 2-8 slate for the year.
