Eala reaches Poitiers semis

MANILA, Philippines — Streaking Alex Eala cruised past Croatia’s Ana Konjuh, 6-2, 6-3, last night and rolled to the Final Four of the W80 Poitiers in France.

It’s the fifth straight win for Eala, who came all the way from the qualifying draw, and she needed only 75 minutes to secure it en route to a spot in the semifinals against either Belgium’s Ysaline Bonaventure or France’s Oceane Dodin.

Eala, 17, previously bested No. 8 seed Vitalia Diatchenko of Russia and home bet Jessika Ponchet.
