MANILA, Philippines — Bobby Ray Parks played an efficient ball game off the bench as the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins opened its 2022-23 B. League season on a high note, beating the Seahorses Mikawa, 101-86, at the Dolphins Arena on Thursday.

Parks, in his second year with the Diamond Dolphins, went 4-of-6 from beyond the 3-point line to finish with 14 points in 23 minutes of play.

He also had four assists, a rebound and a steal in the dominant victory for Nagoya.

Parks' 3-point barrage became timely in the first half as the Diamond Dolphins took a commanding 50-33 lead with 54 ticks left in the second quarter.

It was cruise control for Nagoya from that point on as they led comfortably and increased their advantage to as big as 21 points late in the final salvo.

Coty Clarke led the Dolphins with his all around game of 24 points, 10 boards and seven assists. Maurice Ndour added 16 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks.

For Mikawa, Anthony Lawrence II paced them in scoring with 19 markers to go along with five rebounds and three dimes in the losing effort.

Indonesian-American Brandon Jawato was limited for the Seahorses as he finished with only two points, two rebounds and an assist in nine minutes.

Nagoya plays Mikawa anew as they seek a 2-0 start on Saturday still at the Dolphins Arena.
